Opensource.com

Earlier this year, Red Hat launched opensource.com as a way to shine a light on the places where the open source way is multiplying ideas and effort beyond technology. The open source way is more than a development model; it defines the characteristics of a culture. Openness. Transparency. Collaboration. Diversity. Rapid prototyping.

Through opensource.com, we want to find out where the open source way is headed next. Hear what you're doing. Tell you how to get involved. Help you apply it to your life and the world around you.

At the Summit, June 22-25 in Boston, you'll have the chance to share your story as well as to hear what others are doing. Here's how:

Come to our session on Friday

Come talk about the ways you’re using open source principles—sharing, collaboration, transparency—outside of your IT department on Friday, 6/25 at 9:45pm. Opensource.com offers a space to discuss applying those open source principles beyond technology.

In this session, some of our moderators and contributors—Richard Fontana, Paul Frields, Jason Hibbets, Ruth Suehle, and Michael Tiemann—will discuss the community and how you can get involved. They will also share some of the open source stories we’ve heard since the site launched. During Q&A, we hope you’ll take the chance to share your own story.

Join our Campground session

Wednesday, 6/23 at 2 pm in Campground 2, located on the second floor on Mezzanine level.

This will be a chance to talk more informally about the open source way, your ideas, and your stories.

Tweet at the tweetup

On Thursday, 6/24 at 6 pm in the Partner Pavilion, opensource.com will be sponsoring the Summit tweetup. Use the hashtag #summitjbw.

Then follow us to the meetup

Whether you're at the Summit or just in the area, you can join other opensource.com members at Boston Beer Works (Canal St. location) on Thursday, 6/24 at 7 pm. Come by, have a drink, meet some folks, and score an opensource.com pint glass. RSVP on Facebook or by sending us a message (on the form, use the category "Life channel moderator").

We're looking forward to seeing you at the Summit, hearing your stories, and giving away some fun opensource.com swag.
