In a way, you need to not only tolerate failure, but be thankful for it.
The knowledge that you get from failure, then figuring out what you did wrong and fixing it is the most powerful expertise you can get.
Having someone else fix your mistakes gains you nothing. If you "cookbook" some process and everything goes well, you may have learned next to nothing. Chances are, those you most esteem and go to for help have made more than their share of mistakes.

AI systems must be designed so that you can analyze after the fact how some result or conclusion came to be. We can't be left with the circular logic that "this is right because the AI says it's right."
If we had some highly intelligent person analyzing some situation, we would expect to be able to ask for an explanation of how various conclusions were arrived at.
