I love this, especially for the flash back value for me. While it seems obvious that the World Wide Web was going to happen the truth is that in the very early days it was anything but obvious. Thank god a little company called "Yahoo" came up with a directory service so you could find some place to navigate from, even if it was manually curated.

A really awesome first step into a new open source project is the first commit. Doing it on a project like the Linux kernel is even cooler :).
