To be fair, the README on github does say "formerly know as 'Open Broadcaster Software'" but it's not clear on what the current name is, other than just OBS.

Great article, Seth. I've been meaning to look into using OBS for a few things and this may have tipped me over the edge into doing it.

One question, though. Is it possible to treat an output stream from OBS as a video source/device? Looked around a bit and couldn't find much on the topic. The idea would be to be to piggyback the advanced video controls from OBS into use in (for example) live video workshops over multi-person video platforms like Skype or Hangouts. Sure, you can stream to Twitch or YouTube, but that's a one-to-many environment. Many-to-many can sometimes be more productive.
