MT, thanks for your comment. As I understand it, Alex is referring to the healthcare industry's ability, or here, lack thereof, to respond quickly to changing technologies and implement them -- on the patient care side, but also on the laboratory side. In my opinion, it's a matter of perspective: Yes, medical science has made huge strides over the last 50 (to 100) years, but if you look at it from the POV of the innovators today, right now -- they've done the research, they've found the money, and they have supporters. Real backing. And we're talking about some tremendous ideas for devices, care, etc. that will help people today, right now. This kind of patient care involves technology, community and collaboration, and has been stifled by a "process" that is outdated for this particular kind of action.
