I attended Stormy's talk live. Nowhere in the talk did she say that we need more women in IT just because "vagina." That's a straw man argument.
The same opportunities do not exist regardless of gender, otherwise we'd have a much more normal gender (and race!) distribution in IT nor would we have such a terrible attrition rate amongst underrepresented groups in IT. It's not gender-biased to try to remove the barriers for these groups to participate in IT. It's not a question of 'making their own choices' or natural interests or anything like that. There are people interested in the field that aren't able to get in and aren't able to tolerate staying in for reasons that have little to do with the actual work.
