Steve currently works for Red Hat as an Architect in the Solutions and Technology Practice. He has certifications ranging from the RHCA (in DevOps), to Ansible, to Containerized Applications and more. He spends a lot of time discussing technology and writing tutorials on various technical subjects with friends, family, and anyone who is interested in listening.

What a well thought out reply. I suppose since I didn't have any prior knowledge I didn't find the learning curve too steep. Particularly when I adopted NodeRED.
I have only recently gotten a Zigbee Home (a Sonoff ZB Hub that I flashed with Tasmota) so 98% of the things I use are still WiFi based and that works quite well for us. We have some problem with WiFi interference during the peak hours of 19:00-21:00 because we are in an apartment building. Overall, I like the direction HA is heading
