Gorkem Sevinc, MSE, CIIP is a clinical informatician, systems development manager and research associate in the Department of Radiology (School of Medicine) at the Johns Hopkins University. He received his MSE at the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering Computer Science Department with a concentration in Surgical Robotics and his BSc degree at the University of Kansas in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics under the traditional Fulbright Scholarship. He completed his master's training with a thesis titled "Integration and Evaluation of Interactive Speech Control in Surgical Robotics" where Dr. Russell Taylor served as his primary mentor. Mr. Sevinc runs the operations of an immersive technology development center, where he architects and leads the development of clinically integrated quality informatics tools in conjunction with clinical users. He has expertise in software development, access & management of clinical data with an emphasis on back-end implementation of complex systems. Mr. Sevinc is the co-director of the Clinical Informatics Fellowship at JHU with Dr. Paul Nagy, Director of Quality for the Department of Radiology. His experience at JHU has given him the opportunity to identify need for and develop clinically-integrated quality improvement, collaboration and analytics tools that have a major impact on clinical workflow. He is an editor of profiles in Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) IT Infrastructure committee and other various standard bodies.
