I had no problem playing all of the videos using <a href="http://www.youtube.com/html5">YouTube's HTML5 player</a>. If that doesn't work for you, try installing <a href="http://www.gnu.org/software/gnash/">GNU Gnash</a> or <a href="http://lightspark.github.io/">Lightspark</a>. If all else fails, you can use <a href="http://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/">youtube-dl</a>.
I think more people should know about <a href="https://www.openaccessbutton.org/">Open Access Button</a>. (<a href="https://github.com/oabutton">oabutton on github</a>) Their tag line is: "Tracking and mapping the impact of paywalls one click at a time." The button is an attempt to bring attention to an important issue. So, while it doesn't provide a tool to make using the library easier, what they're trying to accomplish is important.
