I record a couple of tutorial videos each month for work, and my preferred tool is Kdenlive. It offers similar options as the above mentioned, but it also is a full-blown video editing suite so I can edit, cut, fix audio and whatever I might need before publishing it.
I extensively used KDEnlive for all my video editing. No problems with transitions. It also can decouple video audio and you can mix as many video tracks and audio tracks as you want, with a lot of audio/video transitions available. The thing I liked most is it is extremely powerfull in exporting to a wide range of output formats, and managing the export of multiple videos in parallell, making good use of multicore cpus.
