Shankar Prasad is a localizer by profession, passionate towards mother tongue - Kannada. He strongly believes that technology and the information about the technology should be available to everyone in their own language. Loves to write about FOSS in Kannada. He is driving Kannada localiziation of many opensource projects like Gnome, Fedora, Firefox, Libreoffice, KDE etc.
Currently working as Langugae Maintainer (Kannada) with Red Hat. Apart from this, he initiated "Source String Contextualization" project around Fedora with the idea of helping the translators by providing relevant information about the entries which they are translating. Hoping to extend this project to other opensource projects. His other hobbies are poetry, movies, reading and gazals.
