My wife is a birdwatcher, and has begun taking a hand-held digital recorder with her to record bird songs. These come back rather noisy, as well as having a lot of dead space.
I use Audacity to apply a Filter curve that depresses low frequencies and augments frequencies above about 1000 Hz, then cut out dead spots and noise.
I use Adblock Plus, and recently I stopped being able to go to weather.com -- apparently they block access if you're using a blocker.
